Complications abdominoplasty (tummytuck) a corset

In this case we see focal atrophy of the rectus muscles with fibro-adipose involution caused by abdominoplasty (tummytuck) to corset (performed many years earlier at other facility).

Corset sutures of the rectus muscles may result in atrophy with fibro-adipose involution of the rectus.

Such muscle degeneration is usually focal, near the corset suture (see diagram).

Unfortunately, there is no surgical solution to this complication.
